My client, a large government department in Canberra, seeks a Project Manager for an initial 3 month contract to start immediately.
As the Project Manager for this high profile and exciting project, you will be providing leadership to a project team of business analysts, software developers and testers through all stages of the SDLC, while managing resources on a large multi-project environment. My client is ideally looking for someone with experience in the project management of an IT web development project in a semi or fully outsourced configuration.
As the successful Project Manager, you will possess:
At least 5 years experience in the design, development and implementation of software and at least 2 years experience in project managing web based/application software projects;
Understand mainstream project methodologies and their processes including PMBOK, Prince2, RUP, Agile, XP, Scrum, and adopt aspects of these methodologies that best suit the size and complexity of the projects
Provide leadership for a team of software developers, business analysts, data migration specialists, system architects and coordinate with other project teams including task scheduling, resource allocation and issue resolution;
At least 5 years experience in the design, development and implementation of software and at least 2 years experience in project managing web based/application software projects;
Understand mainstream project methodologies and their processes including PMBOK, Prince2, RUP, Agile, XP, Scrum, and adopt aspects of these methodologies that best suit the size and complexity of the projects
Provide leadership for a team of software developers, business analysts, data migration specialists, system architects and coordinate with other project teams including task scheduling, resource allocation and issue resolution;
Sound understanding of internet systems and internet security principles;
Excellent overall product and solution knowledge with an understanding of key COTS products, utilities and solutions and;
Understanding of how to initiate and arrange the development of proofs of concept and prototypes;
Excellent team manager with the ability to lead and manage a team of peers;
Strong written and oral communication skills, including negotiation, collaboration and presentation skills;
Excellent technical writing skills for reporting and systems & user documentation
